Birthdays and The Potty

We have really kicked the New Year off with a bang at our house! We started off with Jeremiah becoming a really big boy and getting potty trained! He's done very well with it so far :) I think it helped that he has the coolest Buzz, Thomas, Cars, and Wall-E underpants ever! He calls them his "sweaterpants" and likes to wear them backwards so that he can see the picture :)And this picture's just cute:
January 10, 2011 Jeremiah turned 3 years old!! (We really just won't think about the fact that there's only 2 more years before kindergarten!) We started off his day with Mickey Mouse pancakes. (He's holding it over the Mickey on his jammies)
That night we had an awesome Birthday party with great grandmas and grandpas Dixon and Waite, grandma and grandpa Dixon, Jen and Kevin and the kids, and Kate and RJ at Kate & RJ's new house! For the occasion, I put my culinary skills to the test and assembled a Thomas cake! I was rewarded for my efforts when Jeremiah woke up from his nap, saw it and said, "It's a Thomas cake!" and was really excited :)
And cupcakes for the less adventurous folks (adults).
Happy Birthday to my boy!

He got so many presents, it was kind of like Christmas all over again! It was very fun to watch him open each present and get sooooo excited about them!
He totally got spoiled :)

A mere 6 days later, we had our next big event with Lily's 1st Birthday! I was a little less creative with this cake, and decided to go for taste over presentation :) And it was yummy. (It's a bunny, not a mouse, like Jeremiah says)
Lily, too, got some very fun presents and was also spoiled :)
Then came the moment of truth. Would she freak out and cry and refuse to touch her cake like Jeremiah did on his first Bday?
Nope.

In fact, she loved it so much that she licked (or attempted to eat) her plate.
This is the next morning at our house. Lily loves her new purse that sings to her.
And Jeremiah loves playing with his trains and his tracks.
Coordinating the outfit with the purse. Nice job grandma :)
Thanks to all who came to my cutie kids' birthday parties and for the fun new presents!! We love living so close to family and friends we can share these good times with. And also thanks to grandma and grandpa Westover who made sure to have a party for these kids while we were visiting for Christmas and gave them fun toys and blankies! We love our family!!!

Oh those kids are just too cute! I love the picture of Jeremiah getting so excited about his Thomas present. Jer reminds me of Ethan when he was little because he is always standing up:) Lily bug looks adorable with her little purse. I wish we could have been there for their awesome parties!

p.s.- Cool Thomas cake!

Cute cakes! I just did cupcakes this year for Ellie. I have no culinary skills. We almost got the learning purse for Ellie's birthday too. Your kiddos are so cute.
