October 2014

I'm super behind on blogging, so this is a "not-very-in-depth" look at October!

October proved to be a very busy and exciting month!  The Phoenix temple was finally completed and open house tours were conducted for a few weeks before the dedication.  Mom Dixon came down to go through the temple (and to see us of course!)  The temple is just beautiful!  I especially love all of the artwork inside.  I think a lot of them are originals.

Just like these 3 originals . . .

Grandma brought lots of yummy treats (of course) one of which was a block of delicious caramel from Utah.  She brought some apples and voila!  Amazing caramel apples!

I can't get this picture to move to the right place, so here it will remain.  General Conference means one very important thing - scones!!  We were lucky to have Sean, Andrea &co join us!

On the shuttle on the way to the temple.

After the tour they had a tent set up with the Christus statue inside.  The kids enjoyed touching Jesus' hands.

We sure do love grandma!

Grandma spoiled us and took us out to dinner at Claim Jumpers.

This baby boy had lots of fun with grandma!  We all did!  It was all over too quickly!

Next on our list of visitors was the amazing Kate!  Kate and RJ moved to Florida over the summer, so I was lamenting the probability that I would not see her for a very long time.  But as luck would have it, Kate has a sister in Phoenix and was coming for a visit (for the temple and family).  She stopped by for a couple of hours and it was just like old times!  A good friend is hard to find.  A friend like Kate is priceless.  Do you like how James is camouflaged into my shirt? haha

And up next was one of my roommates from college - Michelle!  Michelle and Kevin stopped for a visit on their way to the temple open house.  They live in Queen Creek which is a little over an hour south of us, so we get together about once a year.  Michelle is a wonderful friend and has a great family, so it was very fun to see them!
This next set of pictures is all jumbled up, but it is a total pain to move them around, so just go with it (if anyone is still reading . . .)

One of my favorite (not favorite) holidays came again - Halloween!  And a very busy holiday it was!  The week before Halloween Parker's school had their annual trick-or-treat event for the kids.  It was very fun and the kids got TONS of candy.

The next night was our ward trunk-or-treat which was lots of fun, and the kids once again got TONS of candy.

Random cute picture of baby James!

Back to temple open house visitors - we were so excited that Jen and Kevin made the trip down to stay with us and see the temple!  The kids love, love, love their cousins and whenever they get together they pick up right where they left off!  We went to a park by us to enjoy the fantastic weather.

Because two Halloween events, and multiple buckets of candy was just not enough, we totally needed to go actual door to door trick-or-treating on Halloween night!  The kids had lots of fun trick or treating with Liz, Benj, and Anna.

Not sure when I took this picture, but I love it.  No product was used in the styling of this baby's hair.

Again, out of order, but stay with me.  Jeremiah got to be on a basketball team with some of his buddies and had a ton of fun playing!  He really did improve a lot throughout the season (6 weeks).

I thought it was pretty funny that for this age division they don't keep score :)

Random, cute picture of baby James all dressed up!  Cutest baby!!

Back to our Ferre visit.  Here's some more pics from the park:

The open house brought yet another visitor to us!  Becky had dropped off her mom and kids to go through the temple, and since she had just had cute Tanner boy (I think he was only a couple weeks old) she came to visit and feed the baby :)  It is always awesome to see Becky.

I really didn't take very many pictures of us at the temple with Jen and Kevin, probably because I knew Jen would :)  It was again a great experience!  It was very nice to get to share it with our family.

October came and went all too fast, just like all our friends and family.  Come back and visit any time!!!
