May, June, and 4th of July 2015

And the action never stops!  On to May (my favorite month!)  To start things off, I found this in the kids' room  . . .  It took a surprisingly long time to unwrap it.

These silly kids were "playing" the piano and singing (that's James on Lily's lap).
This chunky monkey was 9 months old in May!  I sure like this 9 months better than the 9 months it took to get him here!
This is the time of year that our cactus blossoms.  It's full of these super bright yellow flowers and looks really pretty.
Jeremiah had his first piano recital!  I'll spare you the details, but let's just say with our other 3 noisy kids, one of which was coughing every two seconds, we left early.  Thankfully Jeremiah performed first and his teacher is a mom to 7 kids and has lots of grandkids and was very understanding.  Jeremiah did a great job though!  I was very proud of him :)
One of the many reasons May is my favorite month . . . it's my birthday!  The big 33!  A delicious chocolate bundt cake was in order.

This is also the time of year when it's harvest time in our garden!  Here are some radishes for our salad.
This funny giraffe was outside the copy store and the kids wanted a picture with it :)
Another great thing about this May was that Marci & Chad and the kids came to visit!  They stayed with Elisa and Jonathan but we got to spend some good time with them :)  The kids braved the cold pool water, but the adults weren't so brave . . .

 Pretty Lily

It was also Ella's birthday so we had a little par-tay for her.

On their way out of town they stopped by to see my digs.  We had a good visit and then they were on the road!  It was so fun to see them and catch up with the kids.  It was super sunny, thus the squinty eyes in this pic.
Another reason May is my favorite - Mother's Day!!  Parker and the kids got Roses (on Saturday) and on Sunday morning mad my very favorite of all time blueberry buttermilk pancakes!

I love these crazies.  My world revolves around them and is a whole lot better with them in it.  I am eternally grateful for the gift of motherhood.
And what is cuter than a baby in a diaper?  Nothing!
The boys and Parker were all set to go to the Father and Sons campout, but a big storm came in and it got postponed.  In preparation for me and Lily's lady's night, I had bought this jewelry box that she could decorate with glitter, stickers, and markers.  She did it anyway, even though the boys didn't go camping.
Jen gave me this adorable suit and I must say Sam looks very handsome in it!

I think we've come to June.  Parker had the month of June off so we had lots of family time! For some family fun, we went to Cabella's and looked at all the animals and got some delicious kettle corn.
I found this double jog stroller on craigslist. It was a good deal on a great stroller!  Thanks to this purchase, I was able to start running regularly.  I did wonder why I chose June in Phoenix to start running, but there it is.  We went running as a family with Jer and Lily on their bikes every other day for all of June!  It was hot and sweaty, but good family time :)
 Picture of a cute baby!
A couple weeks later, the Father and Sons campout was back on!  So Lily and I made marshmallow brownies and watched a Barbie movie :)
 James helped.
James does this hilarious face!  I call it his Popeye face.
 It cracks us up!
In our garden this year we planted sunflower seeds.  We got two very tall sunflowers and they both bloomed!  They were beautiful (until the bugs got to them . . .)  It really was fascinating to watch them go from a seed to a 4 foot tall flower!
June was also swim lesson time!  Jeremiah and Lily both took lessons this year and progressed a lot!  Sam and James were good sports and came with me to watch them.  Sam needed to bring his goggles on this particular day :)
Mom Dixon came for a quick visit and we had a great time!  We all went for a run up to the hills and back.
This one has Lily but no James . . .
And James but no Lily . . .
After a few fun packed days grandma had to go back home so we had to say our goodbyes.

On the last day of swim lessons Parker came and watched the kids.  They showed him all their coolest tricks :)
 Summer time means dentist time!

 No cavities!  Hooray!!

James gets sweaty on our runs so we put water on him.  He had a particularly awesome do on this day.

Summer wouldn't be complete without family swimming!  My friend was out of town and offered to let us use her pool so we said, "Yes please!"

Parker came with us for our Monday family night!
June quickly came to a close and before we knew it, it was July!  Our ward did a breakfast and bike parade, so the kids were all excited to decorate their bikes!

When we asked Sam if he had fun he said, "No.  I was just too slow!"
 Family pic!
We've been in Las Vegas for the 4th of July every year, but since we were here this year we didn't really have any plans.  Our good friends, the Hansens, invited us to go to our other friends and do fireworks on the street.
We started the night off with sparklers . . .

And worked our way up to the big, noisy ones!  We had a great time and are so grateful for such good friends that have become our family in Arizona!
Here is a sight we are having to get used to.  Parker had a rotation in Las Vegas for the month of July, so off he went!  We followed him a week and a half later, so it wasn't too bad, but he'll be gone a lot in the coming months! :(
The kids did a free dance class for 6 weeks in the summer and had their grand recital!  Lily got to wear makeup for her performance :)  Check out those lashes!  Seriously!

Lily did the hula and was adorable.
Jeremiah did a Turkish spinning dance and was . . . dizzy.
